What is Total Whey Protein?

Unbelievably, every serving of our TWP has a mighty 4.8g of Branched Chain Amino Acids (BCAAs). These are the most important amino acids for building and regenerating muscle fibres. How did we create Total Whey Protein?

We use premium quality British milk in Total Whey, as we are proud to support our nation’s dairy industry. In addition, our whey protein has unrivalled mixability with whatever you decide to drink it with. This is because Romix Nutrition uses sunflower lecithin, not soy, as our emulsifier. We want as few allergens as possible in our exceptional products.

We use only essential ingredients for our shakes to maximise protein content in every serving. This means our unflavoured version only has the one ingredient: whey protein concentrate. TWP flavoured versions have just three more: natural flavouring, natural colouring, and the perfect amount of sweetener. And naturally, Total Whey Protein is suitable for vegetarians and coeliacs.

Protein and BCAA Content of Total Whey Protein

Whey protein concentrate typically has an 80% protein content, and we are no exception to this. You can be assured that you are getting 20g of protein from each serving of our unflavoured version. You can also see our amino acid profile in our Certificate of Analysis. For every gram of protein of Total Whey, there are 11.3g of Leucine, 6.6g of Isoleucine, and 6.5g of Valine. This 2:1:1 ratio of BCAAs is the most effective ratio for building muscle. What’s more, BCAAs make up 24.4% of the protein in our Total Whey Protein. That’s a quarter of the amino acid content, which is market leading and something we’re incredibly proud of. In fact, almost half (48%) of TWP’s amino acids are Essential Amino Acids, something no other brand can match.

When should you take Total Whey Protein?

Whey protein is a fast-release protein, meaning that the body metabolises it soon after consumption. For best results, take Total Whey before, during, or after exercise (within 30 minutes). How much Total Whey Protein should you take?

Studies recommend a daily intake between 0.8g and 2.2g of protein per kilogram of body weight. This protein intake depends on your, weight, goal, and level or activity. Whey protein is a fantastic way of increasing your intake, and is a great supplement to a balanced diet. If you’re new to whey, one or two scoops of TWP immediately after exercise is a good place to start.
